UTAU Keyboard Shortcuts

 UTAU has many hidden keyboard shortcuts. Learning some of these can streamline your process significantly!

  • CTRL+W; CTRL+A
    Select all

  • CTRL+Z
    Undo

  • CTRL+SHIFT+Z
    Redo

  • CTRL+T
    Opens Pitch Control menu

  • CTRL+E
    Opens Note Properties

  • CTRL+Y
    Opens envelope editor

  • CTRL+R
    Inserts a rest before the selected note

  • CTRL+U
    Merges selected notes

  • CTRL+F
    Lists voicebank sounds

  • CTRL+G
    Opens oto.ini window for selected note

  • CTRL+L
    Selects everything after the selected note

  • CTRL+B
    Selects note before the selected note

  • CTRL+N
    Selects note after the selected note

  • CTRL+Right click
    Opens Built-in Tools menu

  • ALT+Right Click
    Renders the note you clicked

 Greetings! Today we will be taking a look at how to install UTAU on Windows.   For this demonstration I will be using Windows 10 Home Edition (10.0.19041 Build 19041), 18th April 2021. How to learn and type hiragana

 かかきかくけか... ささしさすせさ... Even if you have no intention of studying the Japanese language, it's going to be invaluable that you learn how to read hiragana in order to work with UTAU. Sure, it's possible to get away with only using romaji-aliased voicebanks - that is, voicebanks that have each sound represented by Latin characters (think "konnichiwa" instead of "こんいちわ"), but 99% of Japanese voicebanks do not come aliased in this manner, so you may end up missing out on a lot of great vocals! Thankfully, there are lots of resources online to help you with learning how to read hiragana. Here, I've compiled a list of some things that may help you.
